HO CHI MINH CITY, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The border force of Vietnam’s southern Tay Ninh province on Saturday detained a Vietnamese man and a Singaporean man for transporting 10 kg of crystal meth, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The detainees include Duong Hung Tam, 36, from Tay Ninh and a 39-year-old Singaporean citizen named Cher Wei Han.
According to the Vietnamese law, those convicted of smuggling over 600 grams of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine are punishable by death. Making or trading 100 grams of heroin or 300 grams of other illegal drugs also faces death penalty.
