Nepali FM to attend WEF Annual Meeting of New Champions in China

KATHMANDU, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will attend the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2019 to be held in northeast China's coastal city of Dalian from Monday to Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said here.

The minister will address the "Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders: Finding a New Footing for the Global Economy" and also participate in the session titled "Shaping the G20 Agenda for 2020" on Monday, the ministry said in a press release on Saturday.

Gyawali is leaving for Dalian on Sunday.

The minister will speak in the two separate sessions entitled "Climate Change: The Next Financial Crisis?" and "A New Balance of Power" on Tuesday.

More than 1,900 politicians, business people, scholars and media representatives from over 100 countries and districts are expected to gather in Dalian to share wisdom and solutions on globalization in the new era. The forum will feature the theme "Leadership 4.0: Succeeding in a New Era of Globalization."

On the margins of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, he will also hold meetings with political as well as business leaders, the ministry said.
