MINSK, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The closing ceremony of the second European Games Minsk 2019 took place in the Dinamo Stadium on Sunday evening.
The large-scale sport festival, which took place in 12 arenas, lasted for 10 days, and gathered athletes from 50 European countries and regions.
The ceremony featured a parade of flags and athletes and the honoring of the European Games Minsk 2019 volunteers.
During the competition, 200 sets of awards were played in 15 sports. Russia took the first place in the medal standings with 109 medals.
Belarusian athletes demonstrated one of the best results in the history of participation in major sport events - 69 medals, including 24 golds.
Ukraine took the third place with 51 medals (16-17-18).
