TOKYO, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened marginally higher Tuesday following a solid lead from Wall Street overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 21.18 points, or 0.10 percent, from Monday to 21,751.15.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 2.25 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1,587.10.
Insurance, food and construction-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
