MUMBAI, July 3 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 people were killed and over 20 others injured in a collision between mini-goods carrier and a bus in Chintamani, 74 km from Bengaluru in India's southern state of Karnataka, media reports said Wednesday.

The accident took place at 12:45 p.m. local time and the injured have been admitted to hospital in Chintamani and Kolar, said the local police from Kencharlahalli police station in whose jurisdiction the accident took place.

The private bus rammed into the mini-goods carrier, killing all 12 persons aboard the carrier, the police said.

The mini goods carrier that was rammed by the bus was converted to passenger vehicle.
