Egyptian president congratulates new Greek PM on taking office

CAIRO, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi congratulated on Monday Greece's new Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on taking office.

In a phone call, al-Sisi lauded the recent progress in relations with Greece at all levels, the presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.

The Egyptian president also hailed tripartite cooperation mechanisms between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.

According to the spokesman, al-Sisi had invited the Greek prime minister to visit Cairo to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation and tackle regional issues of mutual interest.
