MANILA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and nine others injured when a passenger bus collided with a van in Quezon province early on Friday, authorities said.
Authorities said the accident occurred along a highway in Lopez town in Quezon province south of Manila. The highway connects the Philippine capital Manila to the southern province of Quezon and Bicol region on the Philippine main Luzon island.
Pictures posted on social media showed heavily damaged front portion of the van and the bus.
The injured victims were taken to a local hospital, authorities said.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the head-on collision.
