Chinese acupuncture experts to train Indian doctors

NEW DELHI, July 21 (Xinhua) -- As many as seven Chinese acupuncture experts would be imparting training on Monday to over 70 acupuncture doctors from across India in the country's northern state of Punjab.

The 10-day training program was inaugurated in Punjab's Ludhiana city on Sunday in the presence officials from the Chinese embassy and local district, besides a host of other dignitaries.

This is the first of its kind training-cum-workshop organised in India with the help of Chinese experts.

"The International Acupuncture Training-cum-Workshop in collaboration with the World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies, Education (WFAS, Edu), will be conducted at the famous Dr. D.N. Kotnis Health & Education Center in Ludhiana," the Hospital's Director Inderjeet Singh Dhingra told Xinhua.

Among the Chinese experts are renowned doctors and inventors of new technology and advancement in acupuncture science. There will be a special lecture by Ren Xiaoyan, the original inventors of micro acupuncture and famous Acupuncture Cosmetologist.

The training workshop will cover major aspects like neurological disorders, paralysis, racial paralysis, chronic pain syndromes, cosmetic problems, alopecia, nerve weakness, stress management and many new techniques like "catgut embedding therapy."

The Chinese doctors will also provide free consultation to patients during the session, Singh told Xinhua.
