YANGON, July 22 (Xinhua) -- An insurgent group of the Arakan Army (AA) has fired two rockets at three government naval boats in Myanmar's Rakhine state with no casualties or damage caused, according to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services on Monday.

The three naval boats, anchored near Mayu riverbank, 3 km west of Yathedaung township, were under rocket attacks on Saturday by the AA.

The navy was to conduct emergency rescue and aid operation if any passenger vessel running along the coast in Myanmar waters in Rakhine state faces mechanical breakdown or any natural disaster hits the area.

Returning fire to the insurgent group, the navy combed the area where the attacks were launched, finding three 107mm types 63 shells connected with the battery. The shells were defused.

On June 22, the AA group also launched three rocket attacks on a tug boat, anchored near the mouth of Hsantyoe creek, east of the state's capital Sittway, killing three soldiers and damaging the rear part of the tugboat.
