TOKYO, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed predominantly in the lower 108 yen range in Tokyo on Wednesday amid a slightly circumspect mood ahead of the European Central Bank's policy meeting on Thursday.
At 5:00 p.m. local time, the U.S. dollar was quoted at 108.03-05 yen compared with 108.16-26 yen in New York and 108.10-11 yen at 5:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday in Tokyo.
During the day, it moved between 107.99 yen and 108.28 yen and was traded most frequently at the 108.17 yen mark.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1138-1140 dollars and 120.33-37 yen against 1.1147-1157 dollars and 120.61-71 yen in New York and 1.1192-1194 dollars and 120.99-121.03 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
