Myanmar to host real estate-related ASEAN convention in Yangon

YANGON, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will host the ASEAN Real Estate Network Alliance (ARENA) Convention and Exhibition in Yangon from Aug. 23 to Aug. 24, according to Myanmar Real Estate Service Association (MRESA) Friday, which is the organizer of the convention.

The ARENA Convention-2019, which involves eight members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), will be the fourth of its kind to be attended by 400 entrepreneurs from Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The ARENA Convention is expected to provide benefit in developing a strong real estate sector in the ASEAN economic zone through cooperation with property agencies, developers and construction contractors, said U Khin Maung Than, chairman of the MRESA.

With the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia as the founding members, ARENA was formed in March 2012, standing as eight national real estate associations of the regional grouping and its charter was ratified by the eight real estate chairmen of the respective national associations in Bangkok, Thailand in 2016.

The 20,000-member ARENA is still approaching Laos and Brunei for them to decide whether to join ARENA.

ARENA is a regional group dedicated to helping its members in areas of networking, legislation and improving marketing, training and cooperation.
