ISLAMABAD, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Two separate terrorist attacks at Pakistan's security forces in different areas of the country on Saturday killed 10 security personnel, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the ISPR, the media wing of the Pakistan army, a terrorist attack from across Pak-Afghan border killed six personnel of Pakistan army in the country's northwest tribal district of North Waziristan.
The ISPR said that a group of terrorists opened fire at a patrolling team of the army near Gurbaz area of North Waziristan, a district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Local Urdu TV channel ARY News reported that the deceased soldiers came under the attack when they were monitoring the border fencing.
In another incident, some unknown terrorists ambushed a group of Frontier Corps, a paramilitary force, in Turbat region of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, leaving four security personnel dead, the military's media wing added.
The terrorist attacked the Frontier Corps personnel when they were heading to conduct a combing operation in the area.
No group has claimed any of the attacks yet.
Director-General of the ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor at his twitter account said that the martyrdom of the 10 soldiers is the "sacrifice Pakistan making for peace in the region."
Ghafoor said that the country's security forces have established peace in the northwest tribal districts and are now making efforts to solidify the border, adding that inimical forces' attempt to destabilize the country's Balochistan province will fail.
