Deputy chairman of Sudan's military council heads to South Sudan for visit

KHARTOUM, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Deputy Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council (TMC), Mohamed Hamdan Daqlu, on Saturday left for South Sudan's capital of Juba for an official one-day visit, said the TMC in a statement.

Daqlu will meet with South Sudan's President Salva Kiir Mayardit to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, according to the statement.

Daqlu will also meet with leaders of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/northern sector, Abdel-Aziz Al-Hilu's faction, to discuss arrangements of the transitional period in Sudan, it added.

According to the statement, Daqlu is accompanied by head of the TMC's political committee, Shams-Eddin Kabashi, deputy chairman of the TMC's political committee, Yasir Al-Atta and representatives of the Freedom and Change Alliance Ibrahim Al-Amin and Ahmed Rabie.

Daqlu and the accompanying delegation will discuss with the SPLM/northern sector, which is fighting the central government in South Kordofan region, arrangements relating to involving the movement in understandings concerned with achieving peace at the conflict zones in Sudan.
