SCHWERIN, Germany, July 28 (Xinhua) -- German police said that a fallen large tree branch injured 29 people, six of them seriously, at an open-air theater in northern Germany on Saturday, local media reported.
Pieces of wood fell on a beverage cart and also caused other injuries, shortly before the start of an outdoor event in Schlossgarten park in Schwerin City, the capital of the northern Germany state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, according to regional radio and TV broadcaster NDR.
A total of 40 firefighters, seven ambulances and three emergency doctors rushed to the scene, where about 1,000 people attended the event, NDR reported.
