JOHANNESBURG, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Gift of the Givers, a South African Non-governmental organization, on Monday said that it would alert the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) regarding the disappearance of two South African teachers in Vietnam.

The organization chairman Imtiaz Sooliman told Xinhua that 23-year old John Bothman and 28-year old Mushfiq Daniels had been teaching in Vietnam since 2018. They were last seen in May 18 and July 3 respectively in Ho Chi Minh city. Both men were supposed to return home for holidays when they went missing.

Soolima said the issue of language barrier has hampered the search, not much progress has been made to trace them.

"We are meeting with the police today, we want this to be escalated to the Interpol," he said.

South Africa's International Relations and Cooperation department was also made aware of their disappearance and assisting their families.
