One dead, three injured after gas explosion in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and three others were injured after a gas cylinder exploded in southeastern Uzbekistan, the country's emergency ministry said on Tuesday.

The explosion occurred on Monday in a bakery in Kashkadarya and caused a fire which destroyed the building. Fire brigades and the rescue team saved four men from the burning bakery and sent them to local hospital. However, one of the men died from burn injuries, the ministry said.

Prosecutors have launched an investigation into the incident, according to local reports.
