TOKYO, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday as investor sentiment was dented by the latest tariff moves over the weekend, which raised concerns over the outlook for the global economy.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 55.83 points, or 0.27 percent, from Friday to 20,648.54.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 3.10 points, or 0.21 percent, at 1,508.76.

Mining, oil and coal product, and farm and fishery-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
