LUSAKA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- About seven companies from Slovenia are expected in Zambia in the next three weeks to explore investment opportunities in the southern African nation, a Zambian envoy said on Wednesday.

The high-level business delegation is keen to set up investments in Zambia because of the southern African nation's attractiveness as a business destination, according to Anthony Mukwita, Zambia's Ambassador to Germany.

"The Slovenian interest in Zambia tells a good story. The story is that Zambia is without doubt a very attractive business destination, " he said in a release to announce the delegation's visit.

The investors, he said, were keen to invest in Information Technology (IT), agriculture and renewable among other sectors in Zambia.

Mukwita, who is also accredited to Slovenia, said the visit was a culmination of background efforts that have been going on between the Zambian embassy and Slovenia officials based in Zambia.

According to him, this was the first time that such a high-level business delegation from Slovenia will be in Zambia to explore business investment.

"Slovenia is a developed country with a high per capita income and is looking at expanding beyond Europe in search of 'greener pasture' in places like Zambia," he added.
