WINDHOEK, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Namibia conceded a late goal for a 1-0 loss to Madagascar in the first leg of the final round in the 2020 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers Sunday afternoon.
Namibia conceded the goal with 10 seconds left on the clock.
Interim coach Bobby Samaria said on the Namibia Football Association website on Monday that they started off poorly due to the high pressing game of their host.
"We were losing the ball unnecessarily in critical areas putting pressure on ourselves and the first half ended 0-0 with no chances created for both teams," he added.
"We now need to regroup and prepare well for the return leg in Windhoek," he said, adding that a new strategic plan is required for the second leg.
The second leg is scheduled for Oct. 19 in Windhoek. Enditem
