CHINGOLA, Zambia, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- A Zambian opposition leader on Monday called for Africa's continued cooperation with China for sustainable development.
"Almost the entire African nations are looking up to China for sustainable development in various sectors," Democratic Assembly president Maxwell Mwamba told Xinhua in an interview.
Zambia should look to China to enhance infrastructure development, especially in the energy sector, to increase power generation which has been affected by climate change, he said.
The opposition leader expressed optimism that Zambia will continue working with China in various developmental projects.
The whole developmental cooperation between China and Zambia should be based on mutual understanding through bilateral relations, he added.
Mwamba said Zambia, just like other African nations, should strengthen cooperation with the Asian country.
Mwamba said that there is need for the Zambian government to open up opportunities in all sectors to promote Chinese investment across the country.
