Turkey's capital Ankara's landmark edifice Atakule turns red and yellow to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
ANKARA, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's capital Ankara's landmark edifice Atakule was illuminated in red and yellow, the colors of China's national flag, on Monday evening to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The main body of Atakule, one of the significant symbols of Ankara with its 125-m sightseeing tower, turned red, while its rotating platform turned yellow to mark the occasion.
"We celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China," read a digital banner on the platform in Chinese and Turkish.
Atakule celebrated recently the Mid-Autumn Festival with hundreds of visitors who had the pleasure of discovering traditional Chinese folk art presented by Chinese artists such as music, dough modeling and sugar painting.
According to organizers, visitors also watched an interesting mask change dance.
