WINDHOEK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's coach Phil Davies has said that his team is ready to tackle South Africa's Springboks this coming Saturday on September 28 in Pool B of their 2019 Rugby World Cup match.
The two neighbouring countries will be looking for their first group match with the Springboks beaten 23-13 by New Zealand, while Namibia went down 47-22 against Italy.
Speaking from Japan in an interview with Xinhua on Wednesday, Davies said his team is mentally and physically fit.
"It is always good to play against tough opposition as this lift the morale of the players. It will not be easy as the Springboks are one of the favorites to win the World Cup, however we will go into the match with a believe that we can compete. We did well against Italy, however we just let ourselves down by making those small mistakes. We are physically and mentally ready," said Davies.
Namibia are still to play New Zealand and Canada in the coming days.
