WINDHOEK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) will host the Swakopmund International Trade Expo (SWAiTEX) under the theme -- Promoting Intra-Regional Trade and Economic Integration.

The Expo will take place from Oct. 9 to 12, in the coastal town of Swakopmund.

At the launch event on Wednesday in Windhoek, NCCI's Chief Executive Charity Mwiya said this year's theme is aligned to support and drive targeted discussions around key elements that will turn around the economic trajectory of the country.

"The Expo, which is now in the 7th year, will now become a national and international event as per the strategic planning retreat held by its secretariat earlier this year and will provide a premier international platform for business connection and growth opportunities," said Mwiya.

According to Mwiya, the 4-day event will also present a series of business seminars that will run concurrently with the main Expo.

"These seminars target business from the private and public sector, including public-private partnerships within various sectors of the economy," she added.

Meanwhile, the event over the years has drawn interest from exhibitors from across in various sectors such as housing, construction, retail, tourism, mining, energy, agriculture, fishing logistics, and transport sectors, she said.
