Chinese action film starring Jackie Chan set for January release

BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- "Vanguard," an upcoming Chinese action film starring Jackie Chan, is set for theatrical release on the Chinese mainland on Jan. 25, 2020, the Chinese Lunar New Year day, according to an announcement by the movie's official Weibo account.

It tells of a squad of security guards who manage to rescue hostages taken by an international mercenary organization.

"Vanguard" is directed by Stanley Tong, who is known for his action movies including the "Police Story" franchise and Kung Fu Yoga.
