BEIRUT, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's state security on Thursday arrested a Syrian for being a member of the militant group Islamic State (IS), the National News Agency reported.
Lebanese forces arrested the Syrian in Tyre, south of Lebanon, the report said.
After investigation, the suspect admitted to having fought with the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front in Syria before entering Lebanon illegally.
The suspect was transferred to judicial bodies for investigation and other legal procedures.
IS claimed responsibility for an attack in the northern city of Tripoli on June 3, killing two Lebanese security agents and two soldiers of Lebanese Army.
