BUDAPEST, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Budapest marked Friday the World Tourism Day through guided tours, open museums, guided walks and visits of famous thermal spas.
"Celebrating World Tourism Day, the Budapest Festival and Tourism Center (BFTK), in cooperation with its partners, is organizing a Tourism Open Day this year, including special museum and colorful city programs, as well as discounted vehicle rentals, castle tours and light painting as well," Teodora Ban, BFTK managing director told here at a press conference.
"Budapest's tourism service providers joined the open day yet again with many exciting programs," Ban informed, adding that some programs were free and some were available at special discount prize, but most were subject to prior registration.
Among other things, the World Tourism Day event includes cave tours, horse theater performances, and discounted food and drinks in the many bars, cafes, and restaurants of the Hungarian capital.
