HARBIN, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- A Russian art exhibition was held Friday in the city of Heihe, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, according to local authorities.

More than 220 Russian artworks including oil paintings and sculptures were displayed at the event.

A seminar on culture communication and cooperation between China and Russia was also held in the city at the same time, which attracted more than 100 artists and entrepreneurs from the two countries.

"The city will provide supportive policies and services to help expand the countries' culture and artworks markets," said Ma Li, mayor of the city.

The city has been promoting the development of cultural industries featuring Russian oil paintings by building bases for China-Russia culture communication, artworks distribution and talent training.
