Ghana lauded China for its commitment to the African country's socio-economic development, demonstrated by investments in sectors including infrastructure, education, and health care.

ACCRA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese embassy in Ghana held a reception on Friday to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Speaking to guests at the celebration, Chinese ambassador to Ghana Wang Shiting said China would continue to share its development dividends with other countries in the world.

"The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is one of the major international goods provided by China. The BRI is the belt of hope, and the road of mutual benefit," the ambassador said.

Through the BRI, Wang said Africa had been witnessing transformation in areas such as new roads and new railways which had been connecting different regions on the continent.
