German shares lose 1.32 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 164.25 points, or 1.32 percent, to close at 12,263.83 points.

Deutsche Post lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.92 percent, followed by multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical, which lost 3.42 percent and 3.08 percent respectively.

German airlines Lufthansa, energy group E.ON and automotive supplier Continental were the only three winners, rising 0.69 percent, 0.57 percent and 0.02 percent respectively.

Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 229.1 million euros (249.7 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
