Iranian president slams U.S. unilateralism

YEREVAN, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday called on the international community to counteract the unilateral approaches of the United States, according to local NEWS.am agency.

The report said that during a meeting of the Supreme Council of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) held in Yerevan, Rouhani said that all countries are obliged to speak out against one-sidedness and in accordance with international obligations and obligations to maintain peace, security, stability and international order.

The international community must oppose the hostile and unilateral approach of the United States, and take serious decisions and actions. U.S. coercive measures have led to economic terrorism aimed at the lives of ordinary people, he noted.

Speaking about the potential of the EEU, he highlighted the importance of developing the transport component and the transit facilitation strategy.

The session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council kicked off on Tuesday in Yerevan.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayeve, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and the chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan attended the summit.

During the session, the leaders exchanged views on the concept of single financial market of the Union. Some other issues including harmonization of legislation in the field of natural gas transportation supplies and customs clearance, as well as organizational issues were discussed during the meetings.

Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Moldovan President Igor Dodon were invited to join the summit in Yerevan.
