PARIS, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Marseille's seven-game unbeaten run came to an end after losing 3-1 away to Amiens in the ninth round of Ligue 1 on Friday.

Haltam Aleesami met Gael Kakuta's cross to move Amiens ahead in the 11th minute. The visitors leveled the score 12 minutes later, as Argentinian forward Dario Benedetto scored his fifth league goal of the campaign by leaving goalkeeper Regis Gurtner no chance.

Amiens restored their leading position four minutes from the halftime. Serhou Guirassy was fouled by Duje Caleta-Car inside the penalty area, before converting the ensuing spot kick past Gurtner's counterpart Steve Mandanda.

Guirassy had a chance of registering a brace early in the second half, while seeing his shot denied by the crossbar.

Amiens sealed their home victory when Steven Mendoza beat Mandanda in stoppage time.

Amiens climb to the 11th place, while Marseille drop to sixth on the standings.

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, sitting atop the table with two-point advantage, will host their nearest rivals Angers on Saturday. Third-ranked Nantes will take on fifth-placed Nice at home.
