TOKYO, Oct.6 (Xinhua) -- The world champions Poland had no problem with sealing their fourth victory at FIVB World Cup, as Vital Heynen's side smashed Italy in straight sets 25-18, 25-18, 25-22 on Sunday.

Poland controlled the game from the start to the last ball in Fukuoka, Japan. The Italians couldn't find a way to stop Wilfredo Leon and Aleksander Sliwka, as they both finished the match with 15 points. For Italy, Dick Kooy and Oreste Cavuto each scored 12 points.

The team coached by Gianlorenzo Blengini was the worthy opponent just in the third set, but for Poland it was not enough.

The Italian players, who lost against Japan and the United States before, suffered their third defeat in the tournament and stayed 9th place for now. Poland rose to the second place with 12 points, levelling points with Brazil with an inferior set quotient.

On Wednesday the world champions will play against Russia, while Italy will face Egypt.
