BERLIN, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A gunman fired several shots on Wednesday in German city of Halle and killed at least two people, according to local police.
The gunman attacked several people and ran away on a car. The police sealed off the shooting scene and the local train station.
Large groups of policemen were dispatched to the city and one person was caught afterwards.
The police have tweeted telling residents to stay alert in their home and kept away from windows and doors.
Local media NTV cited a witness as saying the gunman, dressed like a militant, shot with a submachine gun and threw a grenade-like object.
The motives behind the shooting were not initially clear.
