NANJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and nine others injured in a restaurant gas explosion in east China's Jiangsu Province Sunday, local authorities said.
The gas explosion happened at around 11 a.m. in a street food restaurant in Xishan District in the city of Wuxi, the city's publicity department said.
A total of 15 people were sent to hospital for treatment, six of whom died. The nine injured are under stable condition.
Further rescue work is underway. ■
