TRIPOLI, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- At least three children were killed and three others were injured in an airstrike that hit a house in the Libyan capital Tripoli, according to the Health Ministry's Emergency Service.

The Emergency Service said that the airstrike hit a house with a displaced family living in it, killing three little girls and injuring a woman, a man and another little kid.

The UN-backed government condemned the airstrike, accusing the rival eastern-based army of targeting the civilians, which the eastern-based army denied.

The eastern-based army has been leading a military campaign since early April against the UN-backed government, attempting to take over Tripoli.

The armed conflict has claimed thousands of lives, and also displaced nearly 120,000 civilians away from their homes.

The North African nation is politically divided between eastern and western governments. Enditem
