WINDHOEK, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's annual inflation rate slowed to 3.3 percent in September 2019 from 4.8 percent recorded in the same period last year, a slowdown of 1.5 percentage points, according to Namibia's Statistics Agency (NSA).

The agency in the Namibia Price Index report released Tuesday said, the developments were a result from slowdowns recorded in Transport, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, health, housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, miscellaneous goods, and services, recreation and culture and hotels, cafes and restaurant.

According to NSA, the twelve months annual average and monthly average inflation rates from October 2018 to September 2019 stood at 4.4 percent and 0.3 percent.

Corresponding rates recorded during the same period a year earlier stood at 4.3 percent and 0.4 percent respectively, NSA added.

Meanwhile, the NSA said the average annual and average monthly inflation rates for the period January 2019 to September 2019 were estimated as 4.1 percent and 0.3 percent respectively.
