Brunei to see more thunderstorms in October, November: official

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Brunei is expected to experience more thunderstorms during the current inter-monsoon period in October and November, which is almost the highest thunderstorm occurrence for the whole year.

According to local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Wednesday, Meteorological Official Harnina Binti Morani from the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) said during the 7th National Weather Briefing that the average rainfall for October is at 323mm. However, the country will experience frequent rainy days and the prediction for this October is set to be at 390 to 430mm, higher than normal level.

Based on climatological records, the frequency of thunderstorms is high during the inter-monsoon period.

The weather for October to November is typically warm during the daytime, while thunderstorms are likely at the inland areas during the evening, propagating out to the coastal and sea areas during late night to early morning. Enditem
