Namibia ready for clash with Netherlands in ICC Men's T20 World Cup qualifiers opener

WINDHOEK, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's Cricket coach, Pierre De Bruyn, Friday said he knows what he is up against and is ready to face a very good Netherlands side in an ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019 fixture scheduled for Saturday in Dubai.

The coach in a voice statement issued by Cricket Namibia on Friday said his team has prepared very well, especially over the last couple of weeks.

Namibia is in Group A alongside Scotland, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Kenya, Bermuda.

"We have acclimatized here in Dubai and we know what we are up against," he added.

De Bruyn said his team has had very good net sessions over the past two days and believes the players are well prepared.

"Every player is in a good space and each player knows what role they need to focus on in the team," he said, adding that the match will be a tough and exciting game, but hopes he will win considering that his team has a good fighting spirit.

De Bruyn said that Namibia has six games ahead, and what he aims for a spot in the top four spot, so as to advance to the play-offs where they can secure their berth at the T20 World Cup slated for Australia next year.
