JAKARTA, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian vice president Ma'ruf Amin flew to Japan on Monday morning to attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito in Tokyo on Tuesday.
This is the first overseas visit by the Indonesian vice president after he was inaugurated for the next five years on Sunday.
Amin is expected to arrive in Japan in the evening, according to a statement issued by the office of the vice president.
"I and my limited group will depart to Japan to represent Indonesia at the enthronement ceremony of the Japanese Emperor Naruhito," Amin said, adding that he would return to Jakarta on Tuesday night.
