BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- An award ceremony for outstanding young Chinese entrepreneurs was held Wednesday in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.
A total of 20 individuals were granted awards for their entrepreneurial work. Another six entrepreneurs won special awards for poverty alleviation while six others won special awards for employment promotion this year.
The awards were established by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2004, recognizing young Chinese entrepreneurs for their outstanding achievements and contributions to society.
The awarded 32 entrepreneurs engage in different businesses, including flexible materials, biological medicine, Internet Plus, artificial intelligence, clean energy and the protection of intangible cultural heritage.
The award is presented every two years and 137 outstanding young entrepreneurs have been awarded so far.
