Chinese, ASEAN youth share views on cooperation, development

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- A total of 160 young people from China and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are exchanging views on cooperation and development at a week-long summit that opened Wednesday at Peking University.

The participants will attend seminars and a mock China-ASEAN Summit, and visit well-known Chinese enterprises and cultural and art exhibitions during the event.

They will also share ideas on topics including strengthening security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and promoting youth cooperation in the Lancang-Mekong region.

Than Zin Sann, a student from the University of Rangoon, said she wants to learn more about Chinese society and culture through this event and the summit will help deepen mutual understanding and friendship between China and ASEAN countries.
