BEIRUT, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Protests continued all over Lebanon for the seventh consecutive day with citizens insisting on the resignation of the government and the prosecution of corrupt politicians, the National News Agency reported Wednesday.
In the south of the country, a number of protesters were injured after clashes with the police who were trying to open blocked roads to facilitate transportation.
Lebanon has been paralyzed for around a week amid nationwide demonstrations calling for a complete change of the current political class.
During the weekly meeting with his parliamentary bloc, Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri warned against a political vacuum if the government resigns, adding Lebanon cannot bear the state of paralysis.
