NANJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Police in the city of Wuxi, east China's Jiangsu Province, said Thursday that they had seized more than 56,000 counterfeit Victoria's Secret lingerie, pajamas and leggings.
In April, the public security bureau of Wuxi received a complaint from a resident who reportedly bought Victoria's Secret pajamas online but suspected the commodity was fake for the poor quality.
The product was confirmed a counterfeit later and a special team was set up to investigate the case.
Police captured two suspects in the city of Quanzhou, Fujian Province, and seized a large amount of fake goods from brands such as Victoria's Secret and Nike.
Investigation showed that the couple, whose identities were not disclosed, started to produce Victoria's Secret counterfeits two years ago. They rented a warehouse of more than 2,000 square meters in the suburbs and hired three workers for packaging and selling.
The husband has been arrested facing charges but the wife was released on bail pending trial, according to the police source.
