TIRANA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- A performance was presented in Albania's capital Tirana by Beijing Dance Academy troupe on Thursday, bringing Chinese classical and traditional dances to the local audience.
Entitled "The Beauty beyond the Words," the one and half-hour long performance started with a classical female group dance of the thousand-hand Bodhisattva, which was among a total of 12 dances featuring culture of different parts of China.
Other dances included performances inspired by the Chinese traditional ink painting, the Terra cotta warriors of Qin Dynasty, as well as dances showing the distinct characteristics and diverse styles of 56 ethnic groups of China.
A special show was a ballet dance performed by the troupe of the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet entitled "A Scarf Dance" depicting the beauty of Albanian girls from the first ballet in Albanian art history.
The dance performance was hosted by the governments of Beijing Municipality and the Municipality of Tirana on the sidelines of the 4th China-CEEC (Central and Eastern European Countries) Forum of Capital City Mayors scheduled here for Friday.
Before the performance, the local audience also had the chance to attend a 50-photo exhibition entitled "Charming Beijing," which was organized by the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau.
