With one-hand disability, Liang started raising ducks in 2016. He is expected to get out of poverty this year by raising over 3,000 ducks. In recent years, Luzhai County has strengthened its characteristic industries in poverty alleviation efforts. At present 89 percent poverty-stricken households in Luzhai County are engaged in characteristic industries, including planting, animal husbandry and rural tourism, which help increase their income. From 2016 to 2018, 19 poverty-stricken villages in Luzhai County have shaken off poverty, with the number of impoverished residents in the county dropping from 27,587 to over 14,000 people.
