Russia sees Tajikistan as a key ally in Central Asia and the assistance is intended to help strengthen its defense potential.
MOSCOW, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Russia has provided Tajikistan with military equipment and weapons worth about 320 million rubles (5 million U.S. dollars), the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
The assistance included a radar station and armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicles, the ministry said in a statement.
A handover ceremony was held in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe at the end of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) joint exercises Unbreakable Brotherhood-2019.
