COPENHAGEN, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Anne-Marie Rindom became the first Dane to win the prestigious international award "World Sailor of the Year" on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old European Championships and World Cup winner received the "Across Sails" award during the 2019 World Sailing Annual Conference in Bermuda.
The Danish Sailing Union announced the news on their Facebook with a three-word caption under a picture of the Rindom on stage in Bermuda with the award: "She did it".
Other contenders for the prize included Delphine Cousin Questel, the French world champion in the windsurfing slalom category, and Spanish para-sailor Violeta del Reino, a winner of the Para-sailing World Cup.
