Iran to host int'l electricity exhibition on Oct. 31

TEHRAN, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iran's capital Tehran will host an international exhibition on the electricity industry starting Thursday, the Iranian energy minister said Wednesday.

Representatives from 36 countries, including 13 European states as well as Russia and China, will participate in the 19th Iran International Electricity Exhibition, Reza Ardakanian was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.

More than 500 domestic and foreign companies will be present at the exhibition, according to Ardakanian.

"We hope the event will be a good opportunity for our private sector" for new markets, he said.

Some officials of neighboring states at the ministerial level will attend the event at the invitation of Iran, the minister noted.
