JERUSALEM, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Israel's Hapoel Jerusalem achieved a 98-87 victory against Germany's Rasta Vechta in the third round of FIBA Basketball Champion's League on Wednesday.

The game at the Pais Arena in Jerusalem brought together the only two teams - out of 8 - in Group B that did not lose in the first two rounds, and the victory put Jerusalem in first place.

Jerusalem gained a small lead in the first minutes, increasing it to 35-26 at the end of the first quarter thanks to shooting guard James Feldeine.

Vechta's Trevis Simpson gave the Germans some hope, narrowing the gap to just one point at 45-44, but Jerusalem again opened the distance to 54-47 at halftime.

The home team secured the win with a 16-0 run to lead 83-59 lead at the end of the third quarter, increasing it to 94-69 in the 35th minute.

Feldeine scored a team high of 25 points, while his teammate J'Covan Brown added 19 points.

Simpson led Vechta with 26 points. His teammate Sergi Garcia finished with 19 points.

Jerusalem will play their next game in Israel against Poland's Anwil Wloclawek, while Vechta will face Antwerp Giants in Belgium - with both games to be played on November 6th.
