China's manufacturing PMI falls in October

BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The purchasing managers' index for China's manufacturing sector fell to 49.3 in October from 49.8 in September, the National Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
